Are we reaching the limit of homo sapiens?

🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♂️👵 Performance explosive sports as well as endurance sports is stagnating, reaching a plateau since the ‘80s. Same story for human longevity. Recent data suggest a plateau around 115–117 years that may indicate the potential biological upper limit of our species in terms of longevity.

💦 What about performance in new sports, for instance CrossFit®. This is the first individual sport where excellence at both the endurance and strength spectrum of performance is required.

🏋️‍♀️ Going off snatch weights at elite CrossFit® competitions, there is still a 1-2% every year, which would put the sport of CrossFit® still in the linear phase of improvement.

❓ Has anyone of our followers good data on cross-sectional performance parameters of typical events in CrossFit® comps (Snatch, Squat, 2K row, …). Would be interesting to plot them. Comment below your thoughts. ☟☟
