Cardiovascular health: HIIT or moderate intensity continuous training

🔥We know that exercise helps with the treatment of heart disease. But with an already damaged or burdened heart, can patients still benefit from HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)?

🤔Functional fitness sports such as CrossFit® bank heavily on HIIT-type workouts. Is there a role for these in lifestyle-induced heart disease? According to the meta-analysis in this post: Definitely.

🤯There are some restrictions for particularly ill patients, but those who can do HIIT should engage in it, as it seems almost twice as efficient in increasing maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 max), which is a key parameter for the work capacity of the heart.
