🔥↘️ Tapering for big competitions is the crossroad between art and science, and when done correctly, it can result in major performance improvements.
🏋️♀️ This study surveyed 72 elite CrossFit® athletes who participated in the 2018 CrossFit® regionals, asking them various questions about their tapering practices. Interestingly, almost all of the athletes (except for one) reported that they tapered before a big competition, using a variety of methods. On average, their volume was reduced by 41% during the taper, and all training was stopped on average 2 days before the competition.
