Equal muscle gains: Vegan vs. Omnivorous diet in training

If you're trying to build muscle, you might be worried that a plant-based diet won't give you enough of the right nutrients. That's because animal proteins tend to have more essential amino acids, like leucine, which helps your muscles grow.

Not to worry! Even though plant-based proteins are lower in these essential amino acids, your muscles can still use them to build mass. Plus, when you exercise, your muscles get better at using the protein you eat, so you don't need as much leucine as you might think.

So if you're a vegan or just trying to eat less meat, you can still get the gains you want as long as you eat enough protein overall.
