I stopped drinking coffee for one month: Here is what happened

☕️🤤 Like many people in the world, I am a regular coffee drinker, consuming 3-4 cups a day for the last 10 years or so.

🙌 ‘’Life starts outside your comfort zone they say’’.

❌ So, just for the challenge and to better understand the side effects, I stopped drinking coffee for a month. During the process, I self-assessed fatigue, headache, alertness and sleep every day at 10AM. I started doing this 4 days before I stopped drinking coffee and 4 days after.

👀 It’s clear to me that caffeine is a drug with relatively serious side-effects once cycling off. I pretty much felt like s**t for the first 5-6 days. [see slide 1].

👍 Interestingly, after that initial period, side-effects diminished entirely. Felt alert, no headache. Was even contemplating not starting drinking coffee ever again 😀.

✅ This is an n=1 unscientific experiment, but it confirms what has been found in literature before; Side-effects are pretty strong for 1-2 weeks, but decrease relative swift and sudden.

Enough writing for the day, now get me a coffee! ☕️
