😜 Put this study into the bucket of ‘crazy studies’.
🏃♀️ ‘Volunteers’ were asked to do a ramp test to exhaustion three times / week for nine consecutive weeks. During a ramp test, speed and inclination of a running erg increase every minute until the participant is exhausted. 🤔 You’d think that this would basically kill relatively untrained people no? 👀 Results show the contrary. VO2max improved by almost 5% and there were no signs of overtraining.
Looks like ‘testing’ is also a little bit of ‘training’. Nevertheless, we do not recommend adopting this protocol for your own training 🙂
